Return and Refund Policy
Effective from: 1 January 2025
Speak College Pty. Ltd, trading as NSSORS Language Academy, is committed to fair and transparent refund practices. This policy outlines the circumstances under which tuition fees may be refunded and the process for requesting a refund. It applies to all courses delivered under CRICOS Provider Code 02117D.
Student Default — Withdrawal Before Course Commencement
If you notify us in writing of your intention to withdraw twenty-eight or more calendar days before your agreed course start date, you will receive a refund of all tuition fees paid, minus the non-refundable application fee. Notification must be sent to info@nssors.com and will be acknowledged within five business days.
If written notification is received fewer than twenty-eight days before the course start date, you will receive a refund of seventy per cent of the tuition fees paid, minus the application fee.
Student Default — Withdrawal After Course Commencement
No tuition refund will be issued if you withdraw after the course has commenced, except where required by Australian consumer law or the ESOS framework. Material fees and one-off charges already incurred are non-refundable.
Provider Default
In the unlikely event that NSSORS Language Academy is unable to deliver a course for which you have paid, you will be offered a place in a suitable alternative course at no additional cost. If no suitable alternative is available, you will receive a full refund of any unspent tuition fees within fourteen business days in accordance with the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000.
Visa Refusal
If your Australian student visa application is refused by the Department of Home Affairs and you provide documented evidence of the refusal, you will receive a full refund of tuition fees paid, minus the non-refundable application fee. The refund will be processed within twenty-eight days of receiving the evidence.
How to Request a Refund
- Submit a written refund request to info@nssors.com, including your full name, student ID, course details and the reason for your request.
- Attach supporting documentation where applicable (visa refusal letter, medical certificate, etc.).
- Our finance team will review the request and respond within ten business days.
- Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within fourteen business days of approval.
Complaints and Appeals
If you are dissatisfied with a refund decision, you may lodge a written appeal with our Academic Director. Appeals are reviewed within twenty business days. If the matter remains unresolved, you have the right to access the external complaints and appeals process through the Overseas Students Ombudsman at no cost.
Agreement
This refund policy forms part of your written agreement with NSSORS Language Academy. It does not limit your rights under Australian consumer protection law.
